PreSonus Unveils EarMix 16M AVB-Networked Personal Monitor Mixer

Baton Rouge, Louisiana, January 2018... Designed to work seamlessly with the PreSonus® StudioLive® Series III family of mixers, yet compatible with other AVB-enabled systems, the PreSonus EarMix™ 16M 16x2 AVB-networked personal monitor mixer provides a high-quality, expandable, networked monitoring solution for stage, installed sound systems, and studio recording. Part of PreSonus’ fast-growing ecosystem of AVB-networked products, each EarMix 16M accepts 16 mono channels of input via AVB networking—and you can network multiple units with a StudioLive Series III mixer.
EarMix 16M features a loud, clear headphone amplifier that can drive low-impedance devices such as professional-caliber in-ear-monitors. Channel grouping and stereo channel linking let you create custom mixes for each musician, and you can apply limiting and three-band EQ with sweepable midrange frequency to each channel, as well as to the main mix. Once you’ve perfected a set of monitor mixes, save the whole scene to internal memory; you can store and recall up to 16 mix scenes locally.
The EarMix 16M can be powered with its included external power supply but in many cases—such as when it’s difficult to provide power across multiple onstage locations—it’s better to use Power over Ethernet (PoE), which enables network cables to carry electrical power to compatible devices.
A pair of AVB jacks enable you to chain multiple EarMix 16Ms while also connecting to a StudioLive Series III mixer. You can expand even further by chaining EarMix 16Ms from multiple PreSonus SW5E AVB switches. Once you’ve created your AVB network, setting up EarMix 16M routings from a networked StudioLive Series III console or using free PreSonus UC Surface control software for Mac, Windows, iPad, and Android is fast and easy.
PreSonus EarMix 16M in the Philippines will be announced as soon as possible.

PreSonus Expands StudioLive AVB Ecosystem with NSB-series Stage Boxes

Baton Rouge, Louisiana—January 2018... Designed to work seamlessly with PreSonus® StudioLive® Series III mixers/recorders, the new PreSonus NSB 16.8 and 8.8 AVB-networked stage boxes deliver signals from stage to console over a lightweight CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cable. Among other benefits, this eliminates the need for a heavy, expensive copper snake—and the signal degradation that goes with long analog cable runs.
You can remote control the NSB series’ inputs, preamps, and phantom power from a networked Series III console or from free PreSonus UC Surface touch-control software.
A stage box is all about analog connectivity, and the NSB 16.8 and NSB 8.8 give you plenty.
The 16x8 NSB 16.8 offers 16 locking combo mic/line inputs equipped with PreSonus’ remote-controlled, Class A solid-state XMAX preamps, including gain compensation for shared input scenarios. The 8x8 NSB 8.8 offers eight of these mic/line inputs. Both models provide eight outputs with locking XLR jacks. A built-in two-port AVB switch lets you daisy-chain multiple units, or use the PreSonus SW5E AVB switch to support larger shows and installations.
Even if you baby your equipment, your stage boxes are likely to take a beating, especially on extended tours. But no matter how demanding the conditions, stage box failure is not an option. So NSB-series stage boxes come in a rugged steel chassis designed to survive the rigors of the road and are equipped with sturdy handles. Their classic stage box form factors allow NSB-series stage boxes to sit well on the stage, or they can be rack mounted with an optional rack-ear kit. Both models also are compatible with stage pockets from Ace Backstage.
PreSonus NSB 16.8 and NSB 8.8 stage boxes in the Philippines will be announced as soon as possible.

PreSonus Expands Studio-series USB Interface Line

Baton Rouge, Louisiana—January 2018…Following up on its Studio 26 and Studio 68 ultra-high-definition recording solutions, PreSonus announced the Studio 1810 and Studio 1824 USB 2.0 audio/MIDI interfaces. The new interfaces record at up to 24-bit, 192 kHz resolution and feature PreSonus’ famed XMAX Class A microphone preamps, audiophile-grade digital converters, ultra-low-jitter clocking, and MIDI I/O. All analog inputs and the main L/R outputs have eight-LED, ladder-style level meters.

Both interfaces’ outputs offer flexible routing with zero-latency DSP-based monitor mixing and control-room integration with included PreSonus Studio One® Artist for Mac® and Windows® and free PreSonus UC Surface for Mac, Windows, iPad®, and Android™. You also get the Studio Magic Plug-in Suite for Mac® and Windows®, which provides seven popular plug-ins in VST, AU, and AAX formats.
A fine choice for project studios, the Studio 1810 USB 2.0 audio/MIDI interface records up to 18 simultaneous inputs. This includes 2 combo mic/instrument/line inputs and 2 combo mic/line inputs, all with XMAX Class A mic preamps and global +48V phantom power; 4 back-panel, ¼” TRS line inputs; 8 channels of ADAT Optical input (4 channels at 96 kHz); and stereo S/PDIF inputs. You get eight outputs, including left and right, ¼” TRS balanced main outputs with dedicated level control and Mute, four ¼” TRS balanced line outputs, and stereo S/PDIF outputs. All analog line outputs are DC coupled for sending control voltages. Two loud, clear headphone outputs include A/B switching for monitoring different mix streams.
The Studio-series top-of-the-line Studio 1824 audio/MIDI interface records up to 18 simultaneous inputs (8x8 at 192 kHz), including 2 mic/instrument/line inputs and 6 mic/line inputs, all with XMAX Class A mic preamps and global +48V phantom power, plus 8 channels of ADAT Optical input (4 channels at 96 kHz) and stereo S/PDIF. The Studio 1824’s generous 18 outputs include 8 ¼” TRS balanced line outputs; stereo main outputs (which duplicate line outs 1/2), with dedicated Mute and Mono buttons; 8 channels of ADAT Optical output (4 channels at 96 kHz); and stereo S/PDIF.
As with the Studio 1810, all Studio 1824 line outputs are DC coupled for sending control voltages, and you get two stereo headphone outputs with independent mix streams. The Studio 1824 also provides BNC word clock output.
PreSonus Studio-series USB Interface Line in the Philippines will be announced as soon as possible.

A true power house upgrade - An analog to a studiolive 24 III

The long wait is over for The Shelter Power House Church of Angeles City, Pampanga headed by Pastor Eric Domingo.

MDI Pro was able to install a new PreSonus StudioLive 24 III digital mixer replacing the old analog Mackie ONYX 32. Upon installing the SL24 III, church attendees instantly notice the big difference in sound. “The Drum Set now sounds like real acoustic drums” – Brando Domingo, Technical AV Head. Not only the sound is noticed but the ease of use especially the USER function where they were able to program the lay-out the easiest possible.

Another function they are happy with is the multi-track recording where the can record their music and produce. Also in the highlight is the use of wireless control using iPad or Android. This feature gives them the freedom to mix anywhere in the house including the stage proper using UC Surface. Next in line for them is the StageBox mixer SL32R to complete the whole system.
